Quick and Pretty Cards

I have two cards to show you today. These are so fast to put together, and the result is so pretty! I used the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper. Take a look ~

This photo-realistic paper is gorgeous. I finally got the nerve to cut into one of the sheets that has the several wreaths and a couple of swags on it! I cut this one down to 4-1/4″ x 3-1/2″ and layered it with Mossy Meadow.

Before I assembled it, I ran the entire base through the Big Shot with the Layered Petals Dynamic Embossing Folder. You can see the texture better with this photo. The back and inside are also textured, and I took a photo of those to show you how that looks.

On the inside, I cut one of the swags down to fit and glued it to the left side. Then I finished it off with a Petal Pink bow on the front and an Itty Bitty Greetings banner. Easy, right?

The second card is basically the same, but I cut it down to create a 4-1/4″ square card.

This time, I only textured the front of the card, and cut the front panel to a 3-1/2″ square. The ribbon is Calypso Coral to match the base. The last thing I did was to create an envelope to fit this card with my Envelope Punch Board. I decorated the back flap with another piece of DSP from the same pack.

Both the Petal Promenade DSP and the Envelope Punch Board are retiring on June 3. If you want either one (or both!) click on my links below in the Product List.

Have a wonderful week!

I like these a lot! I bought a pack just so I could make the English patterned tea pot for Brian King’s spring swap. It was harder than I thought lining up the flowers with the other label sized pieces of DSP. These will be fun to make too and I won’t be wasting any. One of my customers used the label sized pieces as note pad paper to make notes on to herself to put on the refrig! I love that envelope flap with the DSP too. Once again, I am CASEing you! It took me a long time to use just my shares of the DSP as I wasn’t sure what to do with the designs. Or, am I just a hoarder?

  2. Super Great! I have some of this paper and never have used it.
    Thanks for these ideas.
    Have a blessed day. 🙂

    • Thanks, Nancy! I was tentative to cut this paper, but now that it’s nearly retired, I thought now or never! They do make quick and easy cards 🙂
