Scenic Coast Sympathy Card

We’ve got some beautiful new Designer Series Papers coming out on May 5. One of them is a 6″x 6″ pack called Scenic Coast. It has a gorgeous sheen to it where the water is in the prints. I’ve CASEd a card from Rachel Tessman that is a fun fold. It shows most of the scene when you open it up. I love that you get to see all of the picture on this type of DSP! Here’s my version of her card that I’ve turned into a Scenic Coast Sympathy card.

Isn’t this paper gorgeous?! It’s part of my Product Shares that will be going out in early May. The waves of the water have a high gloss coating on the paper and it almost looks iridescent. It’s beautiful!

To make this card, you’ll need the following:
  • Greenery Lane Stamp Set
  • Prayers & Promises Stamp Set
  • Sunset Coast Dies (available May 5)
  • Night of Navy Cardstock, 5-1/2″x 8-1/2″, scored at 1-1/2″ and 4-1/4″
  • Scenic Coast 6″x 6″ DSP (available May 5), 6″ wide x 5-1/4″ tall, cut into three pieces @ 2-3/4″, 1-1/8″, and 2-1/8″
  • Basic White Cardstock, 1-13/16″x 5-1/4″ for inside, and 2-1/4″ square for netting die, and 2″ circle for sentiment
  • Strawberry Slush Cardstock, scrap for shells
  • Night of Navy Ink Pad
  • Sunset Sparkle Sequins (available May 5)

To assemble, I would start with the 2-1/8″ piece of DSP (the right side of the scene) and glue it flush to the 4-1/4″ score line/fold on the inside, leaving equal border top and bottom. Then glue the Basic White piece to the right of it, with equal border all around. Next close the z-fold and glue the left side only of the 2-3/4″ piece to the top of the small z section of Navy cardstock. When you glue it down, make sure the right side covers over the white inside piece. The right side of the DSP will be hanging in mid-air! It’s a little counter-intuitive, but trust me, it works! Last, go back to the inside and glue the 1-1/8″ piece in the gap. Your paper will be a continuous design when the card is opened. Cool, yes?

Add the netting  behind the top z-section, so it fits within the width of the card. Stamp and glue the circle for the outside and the white piece on the inside. Last, add your embellishments – shells, birds, sequins.

The photo doesn’t really pick up the iridescent shine very well, but it is stunning!

Thanks for joining me today! Have a wonderful week!
