Lovely Arrangements Paper Piecing Fun Fold

A few weeks ago, Jeanie presented a Mystery Monday challenge that intrigued me to try. She called it a “Back Fold Card.” This is the card I created with the Lovely Arrangements Bundle and the DSP that was the Product of the Month for February called Painted Illusions. I’m happy to say this awesome DSP is still available for $5 when you make a minimum purchase of $75. I’m calling this a Lovely Arrangements Paper Piecing Fun Fold. The right side still folds back! 😉

Here’s a look at my card:

It opens by pulling the center piece toward the right and the right panel hinges back to allow the card to open. Thus, the “back fold card.”

Here it is partially open:

P.S. I added the Flirty Flamingo twine after several of these pictures were taken. I submitted it to Jeanie before thinking of adding the twine, which I think adds the perfect finishing touch!

Isn’t that fun? You can make this card by following the “clues” in Jeanie’s post. Click HERE to see those. To make my card, you’ll need the materials & measurements, so here are those:

  • Flirty Flamingo Cardstock – 5 1/2″ x 7 1/2″
  • Painted Illusions Designer Series Paper – 3″ x 5 1/4″ (H)
  • Painted Illusions Designer Series Paper (coordinating pattern)- 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ (H)
  • Basic White Cardstock- 3 x 5 1/4
  • Lovely Arrangements Bundle with Flirty Flamingo, Night of Navy, Granny Apple Green, Petal Pink, and Daffodil Delight Cardstock pieces to do the “in-lay” technique
  • Flirty Flamingo Baker’s Twine (retired)
  • Opal Rounds Assortment Embellishments

It was fun “puzzling” all those pieces into their holes. I used small bits of liquid glue and some reverse tweezers, which made it very easy.

Give this fold a try! I think you’ll be very happy with the results, no matter what paper or bundle you use. Have fun!
