Pals Blog Hop ~ Spring Has Sprung!

Welcome to the Pals’ March Blog Hop. We’re so glad you’re here because ”Spring has Sprung” – at least on our blog hop if not outside! Our Design Team created beautiful projects to inspire you. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

For my Spring project, I’ve made a diorama card with a Spring scene. Even though this card has three layers of dimension, it is designed to fit into a regular envelope!

I used the Serene Garden stamp set with coordinating Garden Scene Framelits Dies, Rectangle Stitched Framelit Dies, and my Blends markers. Before I glued all of the fun scenery pieces in, I stamped the background with Hardwood, using Sahara Sand ink.

It was a little tricky to photograph with the shadows it creates, but I hope you can see the 3-D effect.

The little butterfly is “floating” between the layers with the use of a small strip of clear Window Sheet.

Here’s a side view of the card. When you hold either side and push it in and out lightly, the butterfly flutters 🙂

On the back, I added a Stitched Seasons Framelit label and stamped the sentiment found in Love What You Do. This leaves a nice space to write a short note or just add your signature.

As I often like to do, I added some Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight paper on the envelope flap to give a “sneak peek” of what’s inside.

Although the cardstock is cut at 6-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ to begin with, it fold down flat to fit into a regular-sized envelope. When the recipient pulls it out of the envelope, it pops open to create a stand-up diorama card!
