I realized that my friend’s birthday was coming up, so I went through my collection of previously made cards. I found this one which is perfect as the inside says, “to someone who makes others so happy.” I tend to think I need to make new cards for each occasion, when I have so many in my room that are just waiting for the right occasion! Can you relate?
This was not my original design (disclaimer). I CASEd it from Dawn Olchefske, whose work I adore and get much inspiration from. The paper is Flower Pot, yes, last year’s print – BUT – this card would look terrific using any of our designer papers. It’s so easy yet super cute. Here’s how:
With your Hexagon Punch, punch out 7 hexagons from the DSP that you choose. On the white front panel, which is 4″ x 5 1/4″, push the punch all the way up from the bottom, but off-centered sideways, and punch. Stamp your greeting on white and punch it out with the Hexagon Punch.
Arrange your DSP hexagons in a random manner around the hole and glue them down. Trim any that are hanging over the edge from the back. Punch out 3 coordinating flowers with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and adhere them with Glue Dots. Place a tiny pearl in the centers of each one.
Use Dimensionals to attach the front to the card base. Last, carefully glue the greeting hexagon down flat through the hole you have punched.
For the envelope, I glued down a matching strip of DSP with a 1/4″ strip of coordinating paper on the top. Turn the flap over and trim the excess.
I hope you will try this easy card with any wonderful paper that you have. Maybe you’re like me, with lots of leftover papers from previous catalogs that you would love to use. This is a great project for scraps, as it takes very little paper. Have fun!
