New Fun Fold!

I love a new fun fold! And Susan Campfield has come up with another great one that I couldn’t wait to try. She is calling it the Cascading Pleated Fun Fold, and you’ll see why. Go to her website and watch her You Tube Video to see how it’s made. I won’t include the how-to here, since she did such a good job doing that.

She showed several samples of her design, but I decorated mine very differently than she did, so let me share that with you!

I used my new Sending Cheer Stamp Bundle for my card along with a few other things. The DSP is Merry Bold & Bright. I used Poppy Parade for the base color and Basic White for matting and the front panel.

Here’s how it looks standing up. There are three pages to decorate. On the first one, the front, I stamped and cropped the gingerbread man with Pecan Pie. His face is Starry Sky and his buttons are Poppy Parade. I cropped “Sending Cheer” out with a Radiating Stitches Die, then added the holly and berries.

Page 2:

There is a fun tag die in Sending Cheers Dies. I stamped it with a sentiment from Fun & Festive and Garden Green ink, then added the fun Poppy bow from the Sending Cheers Dies.

This time I stamped a sentiment from (retired) Sweet Gingerbread in Garden Green, cropped it with the larger rectangle die in Radiating Stitches Dies. Then I stamped the gift in Lemon Lime Twist and added a die cut ribbon bow from Poppy Parade Cardstock.

I also added a blank piece of Basic White to the left side to give me a place to write a message to the recipient.

This top view gives you an idea of the fold and how it cascades down – and stands nicely on the table! I’ll likely add some bling before I give this card away. But – word of caution – although it fits into a regular medium envelope, it may require extra postage if you put a lot of embellishments on it. Or it could be inserted in a gift that you’re mailing, or hand delivered if it’s staying close by.

Gift idea:  I think this would go so well with a paper plate full of gingerbread cookies wrapped up for a neighbor or friend!

It is super cute and easy to make. Thanks to Sue for sharing her expertise on this fun fold. Now go try one! Do you have other ideas on how to decorate it? I would love to see your version! Email me a photo of your finished card and I’ll try to put it in a future posting!  karenshallam@gmail.com

Have a great week!

Love the card! I actually saw Susan’s blog and video and never guessed it was the same great fun fold. I loved hers and planned on trying it. But, I am loving the gingerbread person. I liked the idea of gingerbread for the neighbors. The round white piece for the sentiment reminds me of a paper plate!

    • Hi Chris! So glad you are able to comment again! Yep, the “paper plate” on the front actually gave me that idea❣️ Thanks!
