Coffee Cafe Fun Fold Card

Check out this Coffee Cafe bundle for a fun fold card! This has been one of my favorite suites this year. When I saw a card with this swinging arm by Jeanie Stark, I knew right away that I needed to try it with my Coffee Cups Framelits. It is so fun!

Before I start with the directions though, I want to welcome you to my new, updated blog site! I hope this platform will allow me to reach more of you. And I’m eager to hear your feedback, so please leave me a comment and I will enter your name into a random drawing to receive the parts and pieces for this card!

I started with a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ base card of Soft Sky cardstock. I scored and folded it at 4-1/4″ to make a side-opening card. To that I added a layer of Early Espresso measuring 4-1/4″ x 3″, and a layer of Coffee Break Designer Series Paper measuring 4″ x 2-3/4″.

This is where the fun begins! I attached a 1-1/4″ x 6-1/2″ strip of Early Espresso to the center back of the card, then wrapped the extra 2-1/4″ around to the front. It helps keep it flat if you score it at 4-1/4″. Only glue it to the back portion of the card!

For the coffee cup, I made two cups, front and back with Crumb Cake, stamped with Early Espresso. The cup sleeve is Garden Green Coffee Break DSP, and the lid is Early Espresso ink on Whisper White cardstock. All cut out with Coffee Cups Framelits Dies, of course! When I glued the front to the back, I left the middle section un-glued, so I could slip the Espresso arm in between the two cups. When I felt certain I had the placement correct, I added some liquid glue to the arm and adhered the cups together.

To decorate the front of the cup, I added the tiny tag cut from the framelit die using Crumb Cake cardstock, stamped with Espresso ink. I tied a length of white Baker’s Twine through the tiny hole in the tag and tied a bow. To give the twine a little curly flair, take the back of your Paper Snip scissors and pull them across the tails like you would do with curly ribbon on a gift. Adhere with a Mini Glue Dot.

On the inside, I stamped the sentiment from Coffee Cafe with Espresso ink and three random hearts with Garden Green and Soft Sky on the left. Then I snipped out the coffee mug from the DSP and glued it to the right side with a bit of hand-drawn steam coming out of it.

Now here is the sad news! The retiring products on this card are: Coffee Cafe Bundle, Soft Sky card stock and ink, Coffee Break DSP, and Whisper White Baker’s Twine. But the good news is – you can still get these products if you jump on it, because they have not sold out yet. They will soon, as these are fan favorites, and several products have already sold out! Coffee Cafe stamp set and Coffee Cups Framelits Dies will still be available in the net catalog, but not offered as a bundle with the 10% discount. Bottom line: Get them now while you can!
