Awash in Beauty

I’m getting back into card making in a simple way… which is easy to do with such pretty Designer Series Paper! This is a piece from Awash in Beauty. I love the colors, the watercolor florals, and the overall happy feeling these designs give me!

This particular sheet is designed to cut down the middle, then cut each piece into three sections for a total of 6 cards. It’s such a smart design! Here I’ve mounted it onto Merry Merlot Cardstock, but look at all the colors to choose from. Each of your 6 cards could be entirely different.

For the greeting, I stamped this fun sentiment from Flowing Flowers with Merry Merlot ink. I then cropped it with a label die from All That Dies. The label sits up on Dimensionals, over a stretch of Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon. Then I cropped out two little Merlot sprigs from Natural Prints Dies to dress up the lower right corner. A tiny rhinestone adds some bling.

Mykonos

Speaking of being awashed in beauty, how about some more Greece photos? After landing in Athens (see photos on Saturday’s post) we ferried out to our first Cycladic Island, Mykonos. All of the whitewashed buildings and blue trim to match the sea and sky ~ exactly how I pictured Greece in my imagination.

This is where we began our trip, with no agenda other than to relax, get past the jet lag, and soak it all in! It did not disappoint!

Our hotel on Mykonos: The Apanema Resort

View from our room

Walking through Mykonos Town

It’s typical that the shop owners live above their shops in attached apartments.

We walked from the hotel to the town in about 10-15 minutes a couple times a day, then through town to look at all the sites and shops, have lunch or dinner, and meander through the narrow cobbled streets. Again, we were early enough in the season to avoid the big crowds. It was rather cool and very windy, but we loved this place!

Old iconic windmills on the island ~ and lots of wind!

Sunset over the Aegean Sea

We enjoyed this sunset view from our balcony every night – glorious!

Do I look relaxed?!

Wishing you a relaxing day!

  1. Just scrolling through your posts. Absolutely LOVE this card. I will be ordering thus DSP soon

Your trip photos are amazing too.

  2. This looks idealic. I agree the white and blue trim bldgs are so Greece in my mind.

    • Santorini was the same – stark white buildings along the cliffs. And all of the many little churches have blue domes to match the sky. So beautiful!

  3. The photos are just wonderful. How lucky you finally could make the trip! Greece is a very special place~I was fortunate to live there for an extended period in the 70’s as a language teacher on Crete and on the island of Spetses. I would go back in a heartbeat if I could. My last trip back, sadly, was over a decade ago. Your beautiful pictures put a big smile on my face. More please!!
(And the card is gorgeous, too, of course! TFS)

    • How fun to learn a little more about people such as yourself! As long as there is an interest, I’ll keep posting pictures. So far I’ve had a good response! Thanks for sharing that with me, Linda!

  4. Beautiful place to relax. But the wind couldn’t have been any worse than in Colorado this spring, the windiest on record. I love the paper that can be used like this sheet.

    • I think we were hyper-aware of the wind, as we had to walk in it everywhere we went! But it didn’t stop us! It was so strong for a couple of days that they cancelled all the ferries between islands (including ours) which made for an interesting adventure!

  5. Thanks for sharing more of Greece. I love your card and may have to copy it in my own way, of course.

  6. Your trip to Athens sure looks amazing! So glad you are sharing your pictures. ❤️

  7. Simple, and stunning! Love ur photos too!
