Corner Flip Fun Fold with Lovely & Beautiful

I’ve got some new products to share today! The gorgeous Lovely & Beautiful DSP sets the background for this fun fold that shows off two new stamp sets: Reason to Celebrate, and Addressed to You.

The fun fold is part of Jeanie Stark’s Mystery Stamping this week. You can play along with her clues, which are given HERE.

Here’s my card and envelope:

What I used:

• Calypso Coral Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, scored & folded at 4-1/4″
• Lovely & Beautiful DSP, 5-1/4″x 4″ *(read below for notes on this)

• Petal Pink Cardstock, 2-3/4″x 2-3/4″
• Basic White Cardstock, cropped with Stylish Shapes Dies, approx 2-3/8″x 2-3/8″
• Basic White for inside, 5-1/4″x 4″ with a 1/2″x 4″ strip of DSP
• Sentiment: “Reason to Celebrate”, stamped in Calypso Coral ink
• Floral: “Addressed to You”, stamped in Soft Sea Foam and colored with Blends
• Embellishments: Pearlized Faceted Circles, and Petal Pink (retired) Ribbon cut in half lengthwise

Create the Fold:

• With the 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″ cardstock base in your Paper Trimmer, move the left edge of the 5-1/2″ side to the 3″ mark on the Trimmer. Place the cutting blade at the 2-1/2″ mark and cut down to the 4-7/8″ mark.
• Turn the paper clockwise 1/4 turn. Now place the left edge of the 8-1/2″ side at the 3″ mark. Place the cutting blade at 3″ and cut up to the 5/8″ mark.
• Bring the top right corner down over the card front, allowing the cut edges to flip back, creating the new top right corner. The paper should be parallel to the side and to the bottom of the card. Secure the folded corner to the card front with a Mini Glue Dot.
• Burnish the folded edges to be nice and crisp.

*Your Choice: the Easy Way or the Hard Way:

There is an easy way and a hard way to include the DSP on the front of the card. I did it the hard way and then realized – Oh… hello! The easy way is to add the DSP to the card front before cutting the slits for the fold. Place glue in the center of the DSP as well as around the edges. You will be cutting through two pieces of paper, so run your blade through it twice.

The hard way is to cut the DSP to 5-1/4″x 4″ as above, but then cut the square out of the top right corner and piecing it around the corner fold. I went one step further in “hard” and cut the corners to be parallel to the folded edges.

I guess I’m saying, opt for the easy way! 😄

This new stamp set will cover any number of occasions! I think it’s fantastic and highly recommend it!

On the inside, you may want to add a 1/2″ strip of DSP along the bottom.

The Envelope:

Addressed to You is a fun new stamp set that gives you some unique ways to address your envelope! Here, I stamped the partial oval with Calypso Coral, then stamped the flowers with Soft Sea Foam and colored it to match the card front. I also stamped the address lines in Soft Sea Foam.

The images fit perfectly into the little gap in the partial oval or rectangle! Isn’t it fun?!
