And Then There is Greece…
Some of you know I just spent most of May with my long-time friend, Terry, in Greece. We visited Athens and 5 of the surrounding islands. If you have ever thought of visiting Greece, I highly recommend it. The beauty and diversity of the country is quite amazing. We only touched the surface of what there is to see. Here are a few of my favorite photos, first in Athens.
The Acropolis overlooking Athens from the street
The Parthenon on top of the Acropolis
It was pretty crowded up there, but nothing compared to the summer months, I hear!
The Erechtheion atop the Acropolis
We saw the original pillars in the Acropolis Museum. These are replicas, replaced to preserve the originals from weather damage.
Greek flag flying atop the Acropolis
Athens was a busy, noisy, gritty city full of history, art, and amazing food! On top of the Acropolis, it felt completely different – quiet, almost reverent, even with the crowds of visitors. The view from up there was unbelievable!
If you’re interested, I’ll post a few more photos in the upcoming days. There is much to share! If you’re here only for the card ideas, I will keep these at the end of the posts so you can view them only if you wish to!
Have a wonderful weekend! Wishing you a good Memorial Day. Now on to creating some new cards to share with you ~

First I love that you went with a girlfriend. I did not realize that, love love love that. I can’t wait to see and read more. Greece is on my travel list.
You should definitely go, Michelle! I recommend visiting different islands along with some of the mainland, particularly Athens, to get the full experience. And set up some tours on each. It was great to hear the history and culture in addition to seeing the beauty! And yes, fun to travel with a girlfriend. We had a blast!
I love your beautiful photos and traveling with you! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Beth! Hope to see you soon!
Karen, I enjoy your cards and the photos of Greece are awesome. I am taking my granddaughter there in July.
That’s exciting, Gail! If you have any questions, I’d be happy to share some of what I learned!
You and your cards always inspire me .I love your work.
Greece is the home of my heart and I dream I am back there visiting again many nights. Your recent photos made me cry with joy. I could almost feel myself standing there beside you. I am not sure I will physically get back again but your pictures are super great.
Thank you so much, Mary! Are you from Greece? I’m so glad I got there. It’s been a long-time dream, and we loved every minute of our visit.
Glad to have you back. Sounds like a wonderful time. I would enjoy more pictures, since I can no longer travel like that.
I’ll keep posting them, Phyllis, as long as people are interested! It is fun for me to look back and remember through the pics, too!
Hi Karen,
I would love to see Greece but never had the opportunity. I’m a little too old to travel now. So, seeing your beautiful pictures mean a lot to me. Thank you.
I’m glad you’re enjoying them, Michelle! I have more coming on Monday!
Would love to see more pictures. They bring back great memories.
Oh, Greece! What culture! What history! How fortunate you are to see it at this time! Of course, more Greece! I am sure you will get card making inspiration from Greece. Don’t you dare neglect us and not make cards for us! Maybe one or some of us will get inspiration from Greece. I get lots of inspiration from you and your cards. More everything!
I’m working on more as we speak, Nancy! Thanks for cheering me on!
Thank you for sharing your Greece trip. More photos will be welcome.
Thanks for saying so, Carol!
