May Pals’ Blog Hop

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team’s theme is “2021-2023 New In-Colors.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. Then, at the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

One of the new papers that highlights the new In-Colors best is Pansy Petals. It’s my current favorite DSP. For my card today I’ve chosen one of the sheets, both front and back to make this bright and cheerful birthday card.

To make this card, I used the Pansy Patch Bundle and Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at both of those items.

Materials & Measurements:
  • Evening Evergreen (new In-Color) card base, 7″x 5-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″
  • Pansy Petals DSP,  5-1/4″x 4″, cut at 1-1/2″ and flipped over to use both sides of the paper
  • Basic White Cardstock, 5-1/4″x 2-1/2″ for inside, 2-1/8″ circle for sentiment
  • Pale Papaya (new In-Color), 2-5/8″ circle
  • Pale Papaya & White Ribbon, 10-1/2″ long

Make a Belly Band

I stamped the white circle with Evening Evergreen ink and the Pansy Patch sentiment, then glued it to the Papaya circle.

To create a belly band, I punched two holes in the Papaya circle on either side with the Detailed Trio Punch, then laced the ribbon through the two holes. I wrapped the ribbon around the card and glued the two ends to the back with Tear & Tape.

Three Loose Flower Flourishes embellishments add a touch of shine and color.

On the Inside

I stamped the vertical Happy Birthday with Evergreen ink and the sentiment from Celebrate With Flowers stamp set. I cropped a Polished Pink (new In-Color) pansy and Evergreen leaf from the Pansy Petals DSP using the Pansy Dies.

To add a little something to the envelope, I stamped a pansy bud from Pansy Patch stamp set using Evening Evergreen, Pale Papaya, and Calypso Coral inks.
