Check out this cute new designer series paper called Sweet Symmetry! Look how the right side is perfectly symmetrical with the left! I’m in awe! 🙂
This is a gate fold card with a ribbon closure. Here are the measurements ~
- Just Jade card base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, scored and folded at 2-1/8″ from either end in landscape position
- Just Jade layer, 3″x 4-1/8″, and cropped with the largest scalloped rectangle die in Stitched So Sweetly Dies
- Calypso Coral layer, 2-5/8″x 3-3/4″
- Basic White layer, 2-1/2″x 3-5/8″ and for the inside 5-1/4″x 4″
- Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper, two pieces 2″x 5-3/8″, and two pieces 1/4″x 4″ for inside
- Just Jade 1/4″ Woven Ribbon (recently retired), about 15″

- Stitched So Sweetly Dies

- Just Jade Ink Pad
Directions
- Fold the two ends of the card base in to meet in the middle.
- Glue the DSP to both sides of the front.
- Glue the Basic White layer to the Calypso Coral layer, then to the Jade scalloped layer.
- Stamp the sentiment in the lower right corner.
- Glue the white layer to the inside and add the two DSP strips to the top and bottom.
- Punch a hole through all three layers of the stamped piece on the right side about 3″ from the top and 1/4″ from the right edge.
- Lace the ribbon through the hole, back to front and wrap it around the card.
- Put glue on the back of the stamped piece, left side only, and glue it to the front left panel, over the ribbon.
- Cut the flower and stem from Meadow Dies twice, once from Just Jade and once from Calypso Coral. Cut the flower and bud off from the Coral piece and glue them over the top of the Jade piece. Glue it to the stamped panel.
- Tie the ribbon into a bow on the right. Add a square gem to the flower.
I left the inside blank, but will add a stamp when I give the card away. That leaves this card very versatile, as “Just for you” can go for almost any occasion.
An Honest Opinion
Truthfully, I would never have expected to like this pack of DSP as much as I do by seeing it in the catalog. The colors are so much more vibrant in person. Plus looking at one sheet at a time instead of all the sheets together makes a big difference. With the small, detailed patterns it can be a bit overwhelming when you see them together. So – if this paper is one that you skipped over as too busy or uninteresting, look again! I think you’ll find that it’s a delightful pack of paper with loads of possibilities!
