Joy of Christmas for Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

This month, the theme is Home for the Holidays. We really hope that you will be inspired by all the amazing creations the Pals are sharing with you! Then, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I decided to go traditional Christmas this time with reds and greens from Joy of Christmas DSP with Gold Foil elements. This beautiful ornament (see die set below) can be divided into two sections or left as one piece like I did. The embossed details are fantastic!

Here’s a look at the Handcrafted Elements Dies. To give you an idea of size, the large oval dies measure 3″x 2-3/4.”

Measurements & More:
  • Shaded Spruce Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″ folded at 4-1/4″
  • Gold Foil, 5-1/4″x 4″
  • Joy of Christmas DSP, three each of three patterns 1-5/8″x 1-1/4″ each
  • Gold Foil for ornament, 3-1/4″x 2-3.4″
    • Added to card with a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet
  • Basic White Cardstock for sentiment, 3-1/2″x 1/2″
    • Sentiment from O Night Divine, stamped in Shaded Spruce
  • Three gold Festive Pearls
  • Real Red Ribbon from Real Red & Burlap Ribbon Combo Pack, approx. 9″

Tips:
  • Use tape runner such as Stampin’ Seal to adhere the Foil to the cardstock and DSP for a smoother finish.
  • Before gluing each rectangle down to the Foil, set them all in place, then tack them down with a tiny bit of adhesive. Once you are happy with the placement and everything is even, remove one rectangle at a time and glue them down with Seal or other tape runner.
  • Cut a small circle of Foam Adhesive Sheet to place behind the ornament circle top and use it to adhere the ribbon as well.

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop next month, when our theme will be Winter Wonderland.

Until then, have fun in your craft space.
