High Tide for Father’s Day & #FF0035

Hello there! I hope everyone had a good weekend. We have a big week ahead of us with Stampin’ Up! as the new Annual Catalog goes live tomorrow! Do you have your Wish List in hand?

Festive Friday Challenge #35

Today’s card is a favorite of the Festive Friday Challenge for the week: Father’s Day and/or Blue. I used an older  stamp set that is carrying over to the new catalog with some new blue DSP that will be available tomorrow!

And here is my card. It’s a little bit Father’s Day and a lot blue ~

High Tide is one of those scenery-setting stamp sets that I love. It includes the two-step stamping lighthouse stamps, sand, water, grass, sun, birds, light ray, and several encouraging sentiments in mixed fonts. You’ll find it on page 152 of the new catalog. Here is the whole set’s image ~

The Designer Series Paper that I used is called Come Sail Away. How perfect that it has little lighthouses in this blue paper! I purposefully offset the stamped panel on my base card to show off the lighthouses just a bit better.

Sometimes it’s all in the little details. I added a few here. Notice the subtle reflection of the sunset on the water? And I used Braided Linen Trim, tied in a little nautical knot to embellish the bottom.

I carried that knot theme to the inside with a small strip of more Come Sail Away DSP.

Another great card! Nancy always has the greatest comments! Right now the Mississippi River has been flooding my home town so I am not too keen on anything nautical or water related! Hopefully it will not get any worse. I am sure there are a ton of other people in the same boat. Ooops, no pun intended!

    • Chris, I hope your home is safe! I’m sorry to hear about the flooding. We went through that a few years ago and it is quite a mess with a long clean up. Prayers going out to you and your town!

The flooding is at my home town in Burlington, not here. My best friend is going to check things out to see where all the water is but most of the homes should be ok. The business area is taking a hit in their basements and the building by the river. The post office is temporarily being housed at the West Burlington post office over by Ann Schach’s house. Ann is a PAL too and one talented stamper. I feel so bad for those who have had damage and/or lost everything.

  5. Good Morning Karen, This is a great card and I will be CASE’n it for my June Birthdays. I did notice the linen knot, but not the slight sun reflection, which was gorgeous. Perfect idea and execution.
    Have a blessed day. 🙂
