Bird Ballad Birthday

Oh, I love this Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up! It is just one part of a whole suite of “beautiful.” I made this card with the DSP, the Free As A Bird Stamp Set, and a pair of Paper Snips.

I used Thick Whisper White Cardstock for the base. Then I cut a 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Bird Ballad DSP.  To that I cut an angled section out of the middle. It’s a little less than 1-1/4″ wide. Next I glued strips of Mossy Meadow behind the two pieces, and glued it to the card front. The piece I cut out became decoration for my envelope front.

On a scrap of Thick Whisper White, I stamped four of the medium flowers, one large flower, and two buds with Memento ink, then colored them with my Blends. The bird is part of the DSP and I cut it out with my Snips. Here you can see the 1/2 sheet that I cut the bird from:

A bit of glue, some Dimensionals, careful placement, and tiny pearl centers added dimension and pretty to the card.

This Bird Ballad Suite can be found on Pages 91-92 of the new Annual Catalog, which went LIVE yesterday!

All products are from Stampin’ Up with the exception of the birthday sentiment, which is from Lawn Fawn in a set called Scripty Sayings. You can buy all of the Bird Ballad Suite elements HERE. I would be so grateful to have you buy from my online store! ***By the way, the stamp set is bundled with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies, Product #151123. If you buy them as a bundle, you will save 10%. These dies, in my opinion, should be a staple in every craft room. I have used mine several times already! They are truly a “Must Buy!” And you can click on the image below to buy it!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

  1. Oh Karen, I love this card. I didn’t think I liked this suite, but It is rapidly wearing on me. I like how you overlayed some areas over the sentiment strip.
    Have a blessed day.
