DinoROAR!

I haven’t met a child yet who isn’t fascinated with dinosaurs. This Dinoroar Designer Series Paper is the next one featured in my walk back through the 2019-20 Annual Catalog. It is perfect for children (of all ages!) and today I’ve made one to welcome a new great niece.

I cut the dinosaurs from the DSP. There are two sheets of these big reptiles that are easy to fussy cut, and they come in a variety of colors.

You may not know that this was a mistake, unless I told you! 🙂 When I first cut and scored the Pineapple Punch Cardstock, I was expecting a full-sized card! Oops, I guess I had a piece in my file that I had cut from before. I didn’t want to waste it, so I decided to make it with a short front and add a strip of coordinating DSP along the bottom. There! Lemonade out of lemons! or pineapples…

My wacky measurements:
  • Pineapple Punch Cardstock, 10″x 4-1/4″, scored and folded at 5-1/2″
  • Pretty Peacock Cardstock, 4″x 4-1/4″
  • Dinoroar DSP, 3-15/16″x 4-3/16″ (just a sliver smaller on two sides from the Peacock Cardstock
  • Inside: Whisper White, 4″x 3-7/8″;  Dinoroar DSP, 4″x 1-1/4″

For the sentiment, I cut a Whisper White strip to 2″x 1/2″, then stamped “a big” from A Big Thank You in Pretty Peacock. Then I added a “hello” from a non-SU stamp that I have, as I couldn’t find quite the scale I wanted from my SU sets. I backed it with a slightly larger Pretty Peacock strip and glued it down.

Since this is going to be a baby card, I have a stamp from a long time ago (it’s a dinosaur, lol!) that says Welcome To This World. I think I will stamp that on the inside as it is perfect with the theme!

  1. Your retrospective walk through is so much fun! Thuanks for taking the time to spotlight this past year’s batch of DSP. I’m so happy that Stampin’ Up put some of their fabulous prints on sale as they go away—makes “collecting” seem reasonable, doesn’t it? Again, I really appreciate your continued inspiring designs. Keep ‘em coming!
