Perennial Essence Spring

Today I’ve combined Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper with Soft Spring Stamp Set to make a deep, rich, dark vibe. Maybe there’s a storm brewing as often happens in the spring! I’m calling it Perennial Essence Spring.

If you’ve been following my series, you know that I’m taking each of the Designer Series Papers from the 2019-20 Annual Catalog just to give them one more nod before they retire on June 2. Each of my projects are brand new for me. I wanted to try a different approach to each to give it a fresh look.

I heat embossed the floral image from Soft Spring directly to the DSP with a Satin Pearl Embossing Powder. This is not Stampin’ Up! but I’m hoping that they will bring one like this out in an upcoming catalog. It’s not quite white, nor is it silver. Rather, something in between, and I love it on this dark paper!

Add Color To DSP

After embossing the image, I colored in the leaves with a Mossy Meadow Blend Marker. To the flowers I dotted the little bits with a Chalk Marker, then went over that with a Highland Heather Blend. It’s subtle but adds a touch of color.

To the inside, I stamped the floral and dragonflies from Soft Spring and the sentiment from Floral Essence.

I added a few Clear Epoxy Drops for a dew-droppy look. I think this paper is just gorgeous, and I didn’t want to cover it up with anything. So my Balmy Blue layer underneath is the only layering I did. If you would like to get more of this paper before it’s gone, act fast.
