Pressed Petals Gratitude Journal

Today I am continuing my look back at the Designer Series Papers in the 2019-20 Annual Catalog, and have come to pages 72-74, the Pressed Petals Suite. I have used this paper several times in my card making, which I will refer to later, but today I thought I would use it in a different way. I have covered a small notebook with it and created a Pressed Petal Gratitude Journal.

These notebooks are available on Amazon. They measure about 5-1/2″x 3-1/2″ and have a plain kraft-colored cover.

I cut a piece of Pressed Petals, the leafy print, at 7-1/4″x 5-1/2″. Then I rounded the corners to match the shape of the books, and glued it front to back to cover the whole book.

To decorate it, I cut a Mossy Meadow Stitched Rectangle, 4″x 2-5/8″. Then I cut two Very Vanilla rectangles, each one size smaller than the previous. From Waterfront, I stamped the mountain in Highland Heather and the sun in So Saffron. I used sponge daubers to ink up the stamps to give a lighter shade.

Tip: Stamparatus!

Next I lined up my two Vanilla pieces in my Stamparatus, put the mountain stamp over the first image, removed the top piece and stamped the mountain again on the bottom. I don’t know if that made any sense to you, but you can see the result is a continuous image of the mountain across both rectangles.

The sentiment I chose is from Enjoy Life, a perfect one for a gratitude journal! I stamped it with Mossy Meadow ink and added two tiny Highland Heather butterflies, cut from the Butterfly Beauty Dies.
