Creative Celebrations (for CSF943)

This week at Create with Stamping Friends we have a sketch challenge. While I often take these sketch challenges very literally, this time I stretched my creative license just a little bit. You’ll see what I mean…  I pulled out a Christmas DSP that I hadn’t used yet, Creative Celebrations Mix & Match Specialty DSP. What a fun pack of papers!

First, let’s look at our challenge:

While the sketch is a vertical orientation, I made my card a horizontal one.

Here’s my card:

Let’s look at the pack of Creative Celebrations, then I’ll give you my recipe.

You can see this isn’t a typical pack of paper! First off, it’s 6″x 6″, and it’s divided on one side into small sections with tags and smaller fun designs. The back of each is a full pattern and there are two sheets of pre-cut punch-out designs to add to your cards (which I did!)

My Recipe:
  • Real Red Cardstock, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″ for a top-fold card
  • Creative Celebrations DSP, red check, 5-1/4″x 4″
  • Basic White Cardstock, Everyday Arches Die, 2-1/4″x 3-1/2″
  • Real Red Cardstock, 3″x 5/8″ under Basic White, 2-7/8″x 1/2″
    • “Christmas Wishes” from Pretty Poinsettia stamped in red
  • Creative Celebrations pre-printed punch-out piece with a poinsettia and greenery
    • I cut this piece across the lower half to stretch it out a little longer under my sentiment piece. I wanted some of the green to fall below the sentiment, so a little surgery took card of that!
  • Adhesive-backed Metallic Gems (gold) and a White Baker’s Twine bow for embellishment

It’s fun paper! I am looking forward to playing with it some more!

Now let’s go see what the other Designers made from this sketch inspiration. I bet there is a wide variety for this one! Click HERE to go to Create with Stamping Friends.
