It’s Thursday, time for Create with Connie & Mary, and this week we have a color challenge. Our colors are Coastal Cabana, Petal Pink, and Night of Navy. As I often do, I looked through my DSP to see if I can find some inspiration from any of the beautiful patterns. I found By the Bay for CCMC750 ~ a wonderful fit! Here’s the challenge board ~
And here’s my card~
The subtle colors of Coastal Cabana, Petal Pink, and Night of Navy in these shells (barnacles?) are so pretty, especially with the pearl foil shine on some of the shells. That pearl foil is also present in the navy swirly print (reminds me of water) as well.
Details:
- Night of Navy Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 4-1/4″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″ for a square card
- By The Bay navy swirl print layer, 4″x 4″
- By the Bay shell print (with pearl foil), 3″ circle cropped with a Stylish Shapes Die, and four corner pieces cropped with Fabulous Frames Dies
- Vellum Cardstock, 3-1/2″x 1″, cropped with a Stylish Shapes Die
- Sentiment from Simply Succulents, stamped twice with Night of Navy, then Versamark, and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder
- Knot tied from Coastal Cabana twine from Three Twine Combo Pack
The Vellum sentiment strip allows the pretty paper to shine through. I picked this sentiment because I think this paper is extraordinary! Only our concept artists could make barnacles look beautiful, yes?!
