Black & White

Here’s a fun little card that I threw together with some scraps I had on my desk! I love a well-crafted black & white card and I think this one turned out pretty well! Take a look ~

Easy Directions:
  • Start with a Basic Black Cardstock base, cut to 11″x 4-1/4″, and folded at 5-1/2″.
  • Add a layer of Basic White measuring 5″x 3-3/4″.
  • Top that with a piece of Basic Black, 4-7/8″x 3-5/8″,  that you have given texture with an embossing folder. Use something subtle like this retired Timeworn Type folder.
  • Choose four patterns from Botanical Textures 12″x 12″ Designer Series Paper and cut various sized circles with Spotlight on Nature Dies. Mine descend in order at 2-3/4″, 2-1/8″, 1-5/8″, and 1-1/8″.
  • Add a dove cropped from Basic White using Peace on Earth Dies (available on Sept 3.)
  • Using a Mini Dimensional, adhere a tiny Real Red heart, punched from Humble Home Builder Punch (on the Last Chance and Low Inventory Lists, and marked down to $23.40.)
  • For a bit of sparkle, add some Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the front.

Keep your scraps! You never know what you may be inspired to create with them! If you’re wondering how I organize my DSP scraps, I use Paper Sleeves from Stamp-n-Storage. I put the full 12″x 12″ pieces in the sleeves and put all my usable scraps in a small clear envelope and stick it in the front on the sleeve. It makes it easy to store and I always know which pack of paper the scraps come from.

I hope you have a lovely week! Keep cool!
