Today’s card is a combination of Feels Like Frost 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and To Every Season Photopolymer Stamp Set.
This sparkly beauty could be a Christmas card or for any winter occasion. I don’t believe I’ve ever made a purple Christmas card before! My design inspiration came from this card sketch on Dawn Griffith’s blog. I flipped the design and added a few extra details.
Before I go into the details of this card, I have an exciting announcement for you! This just in from Stampin’ Up!: Purple Posy Classic Stampin’ Pad (item 150084) and Purple Posy Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill (item 150091) are now available to order!
Materials and Measurements:
Night of Navy Card Stock – 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″, (2) 5-1/2″x 1/2″
Purple Posy Card Stock – 5-1/2″x 4-1/4″, 2″ square
Gorgeous Grape Card Stock – 5-1/2″x 2″, (3) 1-1/4″x 1-1/4″ squares
Silver Foil Sheet – 5-1/2″x 3/4″
Sparkle Glimmer Paper – 3-5/8″x 3-5/8″ square, scraps for three snowflakes
Feels Like Frost DSP – (3) 1-5/8″x 1-5/8″ squares
Stitched Rectangle Dies
2″ Circle Punch or circle die
Ink Pads – Night of Navy and Gorgeous Grape
Assembly:
- Layer and glue the Gorgeous Grape, Night of Navy, and Silver Foil to the left side of the Purple Posy rectangle.
- Cut the glued layers with the largest Stitched Rectangle Die and glue to the Navy card base.
- Turn the Sparkle square to create a diamond with the top, bottom, and left corners touching the edges of the Posy rectangle, glue, and trim the extra off the right side that is hanging over the edge.
- Glue the DSP squares to the Grape squares and glue in place as shown.
- Punch the Posy square with a 2″ Circle Punch. Stamp the greeting on the circle in Night of Navy and the snowflakes from To Every Season in Gorgeous Grape. Glue in place.
- Cut three Sparkle snowflakes and glue to front.
Here is a photo of the Feels Like Frost sheet that I used. I cut the three squares to create a continuous pattern when I placed them on the card.
In person, this card is very sparkly! The photo does not do it justice. I guess you’ll have to make one to see what I mean!
For the inside, I cut another piece of Purple Posy with the same large Stitched Rectangle. Then I went into the archives and found this sentiment from (retired) Timeless Tidings and stamped it with Night of Navy. The snowflakes were some I had leftover from last year. I trimmed them to fit and glued them on with a bit of liquid glue.
What do you think? Would you make a purple Christmas card? I kind of like it!
Have a great weekend!

I love it! I did a Pink Poodle post for the beginning of october!
Like a pink poodle skirt? We always wore those to the Sock Hop in the Fall! Haha! I look forward to seeing your pink poodle!
I like this. I have two friends here in Pella who love purple and request purple Christmas cards. This will be perfect. I usually end up doing something with snowflakes or snowmen with purple scarves etc. I don’t have those stitched rectangles but I think I probably can do without but I adore those on your card. Well done!
Thanks, Chris! I’m so glad you like it. You don’t need the Stitched Rectangles, but when you make it without you will want to cut down the top layers to 5-1/4 x 4 rather than the full size that I posted. Have fun!
