Welcome to the Pals’ Blog Hop! We’re so glad you’re here. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. This month we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Pals Blog Hop with “Critters” from the Stampin’ Pretty Pals. Many of the design team members are offering “Mystery Blog Candy” of their choice to 1 lucky winner. To play along, just leave a comment on as many blog posts as desired. A random winner will be announced on a subsequent blog post by each participating design team member. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
Wingin’ It
I love butterflies! And Stampin’ Up! has made some gorgeous butterfly stamps, but none prettier (in my opinion) than the one in Beautiful Day. So today I’m Wingin’ It for the Pals’ Blog Hop!
I chose a print from the Best Dressed 6″x 6″ Designer Series Paper pack and used it to guide my butterfly colors. The Blends I used are Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry, Highland Heather, and Petal Pink.
I heat embossed the butterfly onto Whisper White using Gold Embossing Powder, then colored the ‘fly. Symmetrically, of course! I was “Wingin’ It” from there on out, because I had no idea where I was heading! I cut it out using a Stitched Rectangle Die, then painted in each wing section with Fine Tip Glue to give it that lovely shine and texture. The glue needs time to dry, so I set it aside and left it while I watched The Voice :-).
Here is the stamp set, Beautiful Day. You will find it in the Annual Catalog, page 131. It is Item #151257 and sells for $21 USD.
I don’t often leave the front of my cards without a sentiment, but this time I felt it worked better on the inside alone. Rich Razzleberry worked well for the greeting. Then I used Highland Heather, stamped off once for the flowers to achieve the Purple Posy shade. My envelope is finished off with a 1/4″ strip of Gold Foil and a 2″ strip of Blackberry Bliss from the Regals 6’x 6″ DSP pack.
I used skinny layers of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock and glued it to a base card of Thick Whisper White. This is a side fold. The final embellishment is a Gold Faceted Gem.
You can see two other cards I’ve made from Beautiful Day by clicking here and here.
A Look Back
As part of this March Blog Hop, we are looking back at our very first Pals Hop entries, and I found mine to be on April 8, 2015 ~ almost exactly 5 years ago! The theme for that month/year was Earth Day: Reuse, Recycle. We were to take any recyclable item and create something new with it. It was a fun exercise, for sure, but I was so nervous about entering the Hop. I had no idea what I was doing! Here are photos of that entry ~
I have to tell you that my markers are still in those containers five years later! Now that is quality craftsmanship! Lol!!!
Your Chance To Win!
Don’t forget to leave me a comment at the end of this post to enter into my Mystery Blog Candy give-away! I’m offering mystery blog candy (i.e. Stampin’ Up! goodies) to one lucky winner. Please only play once. The winner will be randomly chosen from the comments on this blog post on Friday, March 13th, 2020.
Deadline for comments is Friday, March 13th, at NOON Pacific Time. I’ll choose a random comment and announce the winner later that day on on my Blog.
Note: I can only ship within the U.S. Winner has 24 hours from the announcement of the winner to email me their name and mailing address. If you are reading this from your email, click on the title, Wingin’ It For the Pals’ Blog Hop, to leave your comment. Good luck!
More inspiration awaits!
