When I saw this cute fun fold on Dawn Olchefske’s blog, I knew I wanted to try it with my Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper! I don’t remember what she called it, but I’m going to call mine the Whale of a Time Pop-Out Panel Card. Let me show you how easy it is to make.
The Front
The base card is Balmy Blue, 11″x 4-1/4″, scored at 5-1/2″ for a side fold card. The front is a cute mix of Whale of a Time DSP, cut to 4″x 3″, with a 3/4″ strip of Pacific Point, and a Stitched Nested Labels Die. I used the Whale Done Bundle to stamp and punch the whale (Smoky Slate) and the sentiment (Pacific Point.) The tiny heart is Calypso Coral.
The Inside
When you open it up, you’ll see why I’m calling it a pop-out panel card. The scored and folded Pacific Point strip across the middle holds four 2-3/4″ squares of fun ocean scenes, and it pops out! The 11″x 1″ strip is held to the card by only two pieces of Tear & Tape, one on either end.
I will add another sentiment to the inside when I decide who I’m sending it to and which occasion it will serve. Here’s a top view to show you the fold. All you do is score the 1″x 11″ strip at 2-3/4″, 5-1/2″, and 8-1/4.” Mount the DSP squares to solid cardstock squares that measure 2-7/8″ before gluing to the strip.
Too cute! On the front, I used our retired Seaside Embossing Folder, but only because I don’t have the Seabed 3D Folder that goes with this Suite. I would have liked to use that!
Try this Whale of a Time Pop-Out Panel card! I will list each product that I used to make it down in the Product List. Each photo is linked to my online Stampin’ Up! store for quick and easy purchasing. When you order, please use my August Host Code: SBP2TNWZ. I have some nice thank you gifts for those who purchase from my store with the Host Code. Thank you!

Thanks, Rosanne!
Love this card! I am always looking for some kind of interesting design to send to my grandkids–especially since the quarantine I have been trying to send happy mail once a week, and I need all the inspiration I can get. Thanks in advance from 3 year old Margot and 5 year old Henry for the great idea!
I love sending fun cards to my grandkids, too, Linda! A pop-up or pop-out or window card or other fun folds that I know they’ll love. Glad you like it and I hope your little ones like it, too!
Love all these DSP papers. Great way to show more than one.
Isn’t it fun paper? I love every one!
