Waterside Retreat (for Father’s Day)

Here’s a quick and easy Father’s Day card for you today! I’ve used paper from the Waterside Retreat DSP and just a couple added elements. It’s simple, but perfect for a dad who likes to retreat to the cabin and go fishing (my brother!)

This almost looks like my brother’s cabin in upper Minnesota! I will bet he goes up there for the weekend!

Recipe:
  • Peaceful Pine Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock layer, Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder, 5-1/8″x 3-7/8″”
  • Pecan Pie Cardstock layer, 3-7/8″x 3-7/8″
  • Waterside Retreat DSP, 3-1/2″x 3-7/8″
  • Peaceful Pine for sentiment strip, 2-5/8″x 1/4″, stamped with Secret Sea ink

My Happy Father’s Day sentiment stamp came from an older set, Best Year. If you don’t have that, I’ll bet you have another one in your stash! Adjust the width of your sentiment strip to fit your stamp. If you do not have any stamp sets that say “Happy Father’s Day”, a good one that is current is Relaxing Waterside.

And if he fishes, there’s a whole sheet of fish you can easily cut out in this paper! If he doesn’t fish, there are lots of other images that are easy to cut out and add to the inside panel.
