Questions & Answers
Q: What does it exactly mean to be a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator?
A: It means you are a person that loves to craft with stamps, ink, and paper. It means that you are a person that loves a good discount on the products you buy. It can mean that you love to share your craft with others and want to show them how to make beautiful cards and other paper crafts. Or it might mean that you prefer crafting alone and are in it for the discount only. That is the beauty of it ~ YOU make it whatever you want it to be for YOU!
Q: Do I have to teach classes? Do I have to sell product?
A: No. Not unless you want to!
Q: Do I have to spend a certain amount to stay active as a demonstrator?
A: No, and yes. If you choose to sell products to your friends, neighbors, family, etc. you must sell $300 or more worth of product quarterly to remain active. If you are in it for your own discount only, you must spend $300 quarterly to remain active. Or it can be a combination of both. If you sell $250, you only need to spend $50 each quarter.
Q: Am I locked in for a certain amount of time?
A: No. You can drop anytime without penalty. You will get to keep your Starter Kit that you get with your initial order. But keep in mind that you have at least three months (or longer) after you sign up to enjoy a 20% discount on all your purchases.
Q: What’s in the Starter Kit?
A: Whatever you choose to put in it! Do you need the basic supplies to start creating? You will want paper, stamps, and ink. Or are you someone who has been crafting a while and has the basics? Then you will want to get some of the fancier products ~ the dies, embossing folders, Designer Series Paper, etc. If there’s a big ticket item that you’ve been eyeing, now would be a good time to get that!
Q: Who will help me if I have questions?
A: Me! When you sign up to be on my Stamping Habit Team, I will give you as much support as you need! Everyone is different and I’ll tailor my support to your need. Stampin’ Up! also has a wonderful Demonstrator Support team of people in the home office that are always so nice to answer questions and lend a hand. I’ve called them several times myself!
Now MY question for YOU is…
are you ready to give it a try? Trust me, there is no risk! It is so easy to be a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, and it is definitely whatever you want to make it. So… here is what I recommend:
- Go through the catalog and write down everything you think you would like to put in your Starter Kit. Write the name, item number, and cost.
- Add up the total. Add or subtract to get as close as you can to $125. Not a penny over.
- Now go pick out the bundle you would like to get for free. It can be any bundle on pages 168-169 and 173-179 of the 2020-21 Annual Catalog.
- Next, click HERE to go to the sign-up page.
- Fill in the information, give them your Starter Kit and Bundle choices. Your Starter Kit will be on its way in a matter of days, and the shipping on this first order is FREE!
- If you need help along the process, please reach out to me. I’m available by email (karenshallam@gmail.com) or text (916-698-8747). I will be more than happy to assist you through the process.
Thanks for considering being a part of my team. Near or far, we love having new people come aboard to interact with and take part in our fun team activities! Join in on our stamping habit!

Good morning Karen, I became a demonstrator last year as a hobby stamper. I used to be an avid stamper years ago. With life changes I had to put it away for awhile. When I stamped and took classes years ago we stamped the back of our cards with stamps like”Handmade by me or Hand Stamped by me.” I haven’t heard this mentioned in current classes or tutorials. Do stampers and papercrafters still do this?
Hi Laura! Yes, we do still stamp the backs of our cards with an identification of some sort. I have a stamp that says handmade by (my name) and my website. If we sell our cards, Stampin’ Up! requires that we add their name to the back as well. Welcome back! It’s a great hobby!
