Swinging By with Two Challenges

Happy Friday! I hope you have something fun planned for this weekend. Today I’m swinging by with two challenges ~a Tic Tac Toe Challenge and a TGIF Challenge!

Every once in a while I like to pull out some non-SU products that I have and mix them in with other Stampin’ Up! products, just for fun! That’s what I did today, in response to a Tic Tac Toe Challenge that called for “summer” in one of the rows, and a TGIF Theme Challenge “Summer Vibes.”  What says “summer” better than a child on a swing?! Here is my card.

Two Challenges Today!

And here are the challenge banners that swung me into action!

For the Tic Tac Toe Challenge, I chose the left vertical row with Polka Dots, Sequin, and Summer.

My polka dots are a retired version of Pool Party DSP. I layered it onto Shaded Spruce. This is a color combo I hadn’t put together before, and I like it!

I colored the little My Favorite Things girl with my Stampin’ Blends. Colors are listed below. I cut a small hill to put under her and texturized it with the Stampin’ Up! Tasteful Textiles 3D Embossing Folder.

The sun is So Saffron Cardstock cut with the Medium Daisy Punch. Here lies my “sequin” portion of the TTT row!

I decided to heat emboss my sentiment with Black Embossing Powder. Here’s why:

When stamping on anything other than white or a very light color, the plain inked stamp (top example) just doesn’t have enough oomph! The bottom one is heat embossed. It shows up so much better and the shine makes a statement.
