Wow, ice cream is one of my guilty pleasures! Anyone else with me there? Maybe not so much in the winter, but every other time of the year is “yes, please!” This fun new bundle in the January-June Mini Catalog (aka JJ Mini) is called Sweet Ice Cream, and yep, I bought it 🙂
The bundle includes photopolymer stamps of ice cream cones, ice cream bars, sprinkles, and a variety of sentiments with a cool font. The coordinating punch is the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch and separately punches the cone and the ice cream scoop.
I also included the DSP on my card (no surprise there!) I picked the Blackberry Bliss/Purple Posy stripe, then layered it over a Blackberry Bliss card base and topped it with a Purple Posy layer. It’s cropped with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. Who knew that Blackberry Bliss and Purple Posy pair so well?!
The ice cream scoops are punched from the backside of the striped DSP. It’s a wonderfully wild paper with splotches of the same two colors and a touch of Calypso Coral thrown in. The cone is also DSP. They really thought of everything in this suite. There is also Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon and a tin of ice cream sprinkles. I don’t have the sprinkles yet, so I settled for some older sequins I have from the Painted Poppies collection.
I decided to try a layer of Purple Posy on the inside instead of white. It’s pale enough to write on and is a fun change.
A Little Tip:
When stamping with Blackberry Bliss, give it extra time to dry, and then let it dry even a little longer! I have a love/hate relationship with this color. I love it, but when I haven’t used it in a while, I forget this tip and I inevitably smudge the paper.

Cool! Fun suite. I am always ready for new birthday card ideas. Love the idea of the ice cream punch to make a cone so easy. For the life of me I am trying to decide what flavor that green would be. Your cone reminded me of a wonderful flavor we had in Texas, BlackBerry Buckle or was it cobbler. Anyway so fun and tasty. I like the inside color and need to try some light colors inside as I think it adds to the fun.
