Sometimes you want to make a card for someone special. One that you don’t mind putting in a little extra time into for that extraordinary person. This set is perfect for that occasion. It’s called Simply Succulents and I think it’s simply beautiful!
Color, Cut, & Glue
I don’t always want to sit down and color, but there are times when I find it very relaxing and fun. Perhaps I should have looked at some pictures of succulents to get the colors to be realistic. I just went with what was in my head and I kind of like the end result! The Blends Markers that I worked with are Just Jade, Shaded Spruce, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Highland Heather, and Purple Posy. The can is Smoky Slate. I colored and cut out the pieces with the coordinating Succulents Dies.
Use Your Dies in a New Way
Included in this die set is one big plate that looks like a background die. It’s beautiful and I wanted to use it, but I knew it would be too busy for this project. So I used it as an embossing plate instead! Did you know you can use your dies that way? You need a special pad, such as this one I found on Amazon by Spellbinders, and when you sandwich it in with your Die-cutting machine, it turns your dies into embossing tools! I used it on the white background to give it texture. Pretty cool!
I used Basic Gray for the sentiment, cropped it with one of the dies in the set, and bedazzled it with some pink rhinestones that I saved from a retired pack. (You can color ordinary rhinestones with your Blends to make them extraordinary!)
