I had to get VERY creative with today’s card challenge! We are in the midst of moving and I’ve packed most of my Stampin’ Up! stuff. I was able to get to my DSP, though, and found that To Market fits quite nicely in our color challenge this week. I turned it into a “speedy recovery” card. Read on to see how I did it with virtually no tools!
Here are the colors:
And here is my card:
Scissors were my main tool for this card! I did save out a small guillotine cutter and that helped me get started.
- I cut a piece of Garden Green with the cutter to 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, then folded it by hand – no scoring – in half to create the base.
- I cut a 5-1/4″x 4″ piece of Basic White, and two pieces of DSP at 5-1/8″x 3-7/8″.
- To the Blackberry plaid print, I cut off the corner and glued it to the green print – bottom right corner.
- Then I glued the DSP to the white and the white to the base.
- For the flower arrangement, I fussy cut three bunches and the brown pail from To Market DSP.
- With a little Stampin’ Seal on the bottoms of the flower bunches, I arranged them behind the pail.
- This pail of flowers sits up on Dimensionals.
Inky Alternative:
- Oops, no ink pads! Aach! But my embossing tools hadn’t been packed yet! Whew! I stamped “speedy recovery” onto Blackberry Bliss Cardstock with Versamark, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and heat set it.
- OK, even more creative…I had packed all my clear blocks and my stamp positioning tools (what was I thinking!) so I stuck the stamp to the back of the stamp case, inked it up and used the stamp case like a clear block! Wow ~ worked like a charm!
Embellishment:
- I tied a “messy” bow with Linen Thread and glued it to the pail. Some sparkle would be nice, but all of my embellishments are sitting in the bottom of a packed box. Sigh! I can’t wait to move and unpack all my goodies. It will be like Christmas Day when that happens!
So there you have it! You can make a card with minimal tools! Not bad if I do say so for myself! Let’s go see what everyone else made using these colors. Click HERE to go to Create with Stamping Friends.
