Here we go with another Thursday Sketch Challenge for Create With Connie and Mary! Today’s sketch is an interesting one. I took it very literally and used Simply Elegant to create a congratulations card. Here’s the sketch:
And here’s my card:
This particular piece of Simply Elegant Specialty DSP has three different metallics in it. I tried all three and settled on copper. I love the way its warmth goes with these colors!
Card Details:
- Basic Gray Cardstock base, 5″x 10″, scored and folded at 5″ for a square card
- Basic Gray layer, 5″x 5″, texturized with the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder
- Copper Foil Sheet, 3-5/8″x 3-5/8″ with two 1-1/4″ circles punched or die cut from the center
- Simply Elegant Specialty DSP, 3-1/2″x 3-1/2″ square
- Basic Gray sentiment strip, 1/2″x 3-1/2″
- Sentiment from Special Moments Stamp Set (free SAB item with $100 purchase), heat embossed with Copper Emboss Powder
- One copper Brushed Metallic Dot
I placed the DSP square off to the left, centering top to bottom, then glued the copper circles under the upper right side of the DSP square. Then I used Dimensionals to adhere the DSP square.
I glued the sentiment strip directly to the DSP, then put a Dimensional under the left end to anchor it to the card base.
I wonder which metallic color you would have chosen – Copper? Silver? Gold? They all would look gorgeous with this paper. I find it very sophisticated!
