Here is a quick and easy birthday card for you today ~
I took the idea for the layout from Su Mohr, who always does beautiful work. Hers was in a masculine palette, but because I needed it for a girlfriend, I changed the colors to Gray Granite, Merry Merlot, and Blushing Bride.
I cut the Blushing Bride to 5″ x 3-3/4″ and the Joyous Noel DSP is 1/8″ smaller all around. I wrapped Silver Thread around the middle and glued it to a Gray Granite base.
“Birthday” is half a stamp from Lemon Zest! I covered the “Happy” part of the stamp with purple masking tape, inked it up with Versamark Ink, removed the tape, stamped, then sprinkled Silver Embossing Powder over it and heat set it.
The pretty “Happy” thinlit comes from the Merry Christmas Thinlits Dies in the Holiday Catalog, page 5. I cropped it out with Galvanized Metallic Paper. I glued it straight onto the card front after tucking some foliage under it. The Merlot and pink leaves are from the In The Woods Framelits Dies. The white flower sprigs are from Frosted Bouquet Framelits Dies. I absolutely love these sets for their foliage dies!
The last little feminine touch is three tiny rhinestones under the word Birthday for a little sparkle and bling.

Very pretty Karen. Love the metallic accents.
Pretty card. Not sure if I would have come up these pretty colors. Of course I don’t have my Joyous DSP yet. I am with Nancy, I forget to use the metallic threads. It just screams happy and that is a good thing. Have a great time.
Good Morning Karen! I love this card and the colors. I must remember to use more metallic thread accents. It looks great. I’m sure the recipient will love it.
Have a blessed day.
🙂
Thanks, Nancy! Wish I could say “see you tomorrow!” One of these days, perhaps!
