I have a fancy fold to share with you today! It stands up on your desk or shelf when opened, and lays flat to fit into a Medium envelope. I took this idea from Susan Campfield, suestampfield.com, and she named it the Side Tower Pop Up Card. It’s so fun!
Here’s my birthday card version:
Materials & Measurements:
- Base: Pretty in Pink Cardstock, 5-1/2″x 4-1/4″
- Tower: Pretty in Pink Cardstock, 5″x 4-1/4″, scored at 1″, 2″, 3″, and 4″
- Front: Pretty in Pink Cardstock, 6″x 3-1/2″, scored at 1″ and 2″
- Wildflower Birthday DSP: 2 pieces at 3/4″x 4″ for the front and side of the tower; 1 piece at 1-1/8″x 4″ for the right side of the base
- Large floral die cut from Wildflower Birthday DSP for the front, and a cupcake die cut for the back
- Sentiment from Sweetly Scripted in Night of Navy on Basic White strip
- 3 Party Dots from the Wildflower Birthday Suite
I’m going to refer you to the video that Susan made for the directions. You’ll need a scoring board or Paper Trimmer, a Bone Folder, and Tear & Tape.
Here’s the back:
I layered a 5-1/4″x 4″ piece of Soft Sea Foam DSP under a 5″x 3-3/4″ piece of Basic White, then glued the cupcake die cut from the DSP pack.
Want to see another one I made? Once you start, you want to keep going ~ they’re pretty fun!
Get well card version:
For this one I used Country Lace DSP, Country Flowers Bundle, Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder, and So Sincere Stamp Set.
To color the images, I used Blends: Petal Pink, Peach Pie, Copper Clay, Old Olive, and Smoky Slate.
If you love a Fun Fold, I encourage you to give this one a try. Once you get the basic card figured out, you can decorate it any way you want, for any occasion you need. You’ll see on Susan’s site, she made several different ones and mine are different from hers. Give it a try!
Have a wonderful week! The last for January ~ unbelievable!

Fun design! I think I’ll use this for the nieces’ and nephews’ Valentines.
