Sentimental Park With Butterflies

Hello! We have a color challenge this week at Create With Connie & Mary! Today we are creating with Balmy Blue, Orchid Oasis, and Fresh Freesia. I’ve chosen Sentimental Park with butterflies for my card. I love this cool-tones combination!

Here’s the challenge board:

And here’s my card:

sentimental park, brilliant wings dies, scalloped contours die, into the clouds embossing folder, ccmc754, card of encouragement, stampin up, karen hallam

It’s been a long time since I’ve pulled out the butterflies! It is getting to be that season again soon! Yay for Spring!

Cuts & Crops:
  • Balmy Blue Cardstock base, 11″x 4-1/4″, folded at 5-1/2″
  • Basic White layer, 5-1/8″x 3-7/8″
  • Country Floral Lane DSP, 5″x 3-3/4″, textured with Into The Clouds Embossing Folder
  • Basic White, 4-1/2″x 3-1/4″, cropped with Scalloped Contours Die
  • Orchid Oasis and Fresh Freesia Cardstock butterflies, cropped from Brilliant Wings Dies
Stamp It:
  • Sentimental Park “YOU are amazing” stamped with Orchid Oasis ink
  • Crosshatch stamped-off with Balmy Blue
Add the Final Touches:
  • The butterflies are adhered with thin strips of Dimensionals along their bodies only.
  • After adhering them down I lifted their wings up for more dimension.
  • I put one Flat Adhesive Backed Pearl on each butterfly. I love the way these iridescent pearls take on the color of whatever they’re adhered to. It’s a beautiful shiny finish!
