Playful Pets

Have you ever known the love of a dog? They are completely devoted to their owners and there really is nothing like it! If you are a dog or a cat person, you will love Playful Pets. It’s one of the new Designer Series Papers in the 2020-21 Annual Catalog. It comes in a whole suite, also called Playful Pets. So far I’ve only bought the DSP and ribbon, but the rest is pretty cute too. I might be going all-in before long!

I cropped out this little fun guy using Layering Squares Dies (the 2-1/8″ size). Doesn’t he remind you of a character in Lady & The Tramp? The heart on his left is part of the paper, and I added some Real Red hearts from another die that I have.

I used 2 of the background prints, layered them on Basic Black and glued a 3-3/4″x 1/4″ strip across the seam.

I heat embossed the sentiment (Blossoms In Bloom) with Versamark Ink and black embossing powder directly to the DSP after deciding on my dog placement. TIP: Use your Embossing Buddy generously on the DSP to avoid unwanted speckles and heat up your Heat Tool for 30 seconds ahead of time to avoid warping. No point in ruining your DSP at this stage!!!

Doesn’t he just make you smile? Yes, I’m a dog person 🙂

• Real Red Cardstock: 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″
• Basic Black Cardstock: 5-1/8″x 3-7/8″, and 3-3/4″x 1/4″ strip
