Ornate Borders

Good morning! I’m starting the week off with a clean and simple card that has a wow factor created by a single die in Ornate Borders.

This is for the Less is More Challenge #421.  The theme for this week’s challenge is “Borders.” I pulled out my Ornate Borders Dies by Stampin’ Up! to use for the first time! I ended up gluing the panel over Cherry Cobbler Cardstock and I love the contrast between the elegant red and crisp white.

This would make a beautiful wedding card. To dress it up a touch, I added a narrow strip of Silver Glimmer Paper and three rhinestones in the flower centers. Sparkle!

The sentiment I used came from Forever Blossoms, page 68 in the 2020 Annual Catalog. I stamped it with Cherry Cobbler ink.

For the envelope, I used the same border die, cut from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock, to glue on the back flap.

  1. What a gorgeous die and the style of the font works perfectly with it. And so classy in the deep red, white and silver. Thanks so much for sharing with us at Less is More, Anita x

  2. Beautiful card that really does prove that “Less can be more”. Love this!❤️

  3. Chris from Pella

Simply gorgeous! Is there any tips or tricks to using that die? Love this card.

    • My tip is to practice with it first on some cheap paper! One side of the die cuts the paper off and the other side doesn’t, so you have to learn which is which! I did it backwards the first time and it cut away from the card! Oops! 🙂
