Oceanfront

I finally bought Oceanfront! It’s been dog-eared in my catalog since the beginning, but I just now got around to getting it. Bottom line…I love it! It’s a fun companion set to On the Horizon. I used the birds and the sentiment on this card from On the Horizon after creating my ocean scene.

Card Details:

• Lots of ink pads: Balmy Blue, Pool Party, Sahara Sand, Basic Gray, Garden Green, Soft Suede
• Embossing Folder: Tasteful Textile
• Cardstock: Thick Basic White for the card base, Coastal Cabana 4-3/4″x 3-1/2″, and Basic White for the embossed top layer 5-1/2″x 4-1/4″ and the stamping layer 4-1/2″x 3-1/4″
• Embellishments: Gray Baker’s Twine and gray Pebbles

This is a pretty simple construction. Wrap the twine around the embossed layer then glue the panel to the card base. Glue the stamped panel to the Coastal Cabana layer then adhere it to the card with Dimensionals.

Stamping Tips:

• Start at the top with the sky, and move down to the bottom where your sentiment will go.
• Since the stamps are photopolymer, you can lay them down on the paper to begin with and get an idea of placement.
• Finish all the stamping before adding the pebbles.
• Tiny taps on the Soft Suede ink pad with the birds! They are small and you can easily ruin your masterpiece with edge lines that don’t belong!
• The sentiment stamp is Cling Rubber. Mount it on a block with lines if you have one and follow the guide lines, nestling it right up under the boulders and grass. Alternate: Use your Stamparatus 🙂

Play and have fun! The first one I got the water and the sand stamps in the wrong order! I knew something was “off” but I had to consult the internet to see what was wrong! (forehead slap!)
