This month, the theme is Cute Critters. We really hope that you will be inspired by all the amazing creations the Pals are sharing with you! As you hop from blog to blog, we would love for you to leave a comment. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

There are many cute critters in our catalogs. I just don’t happen to have many of them! But I heard that butterflies count as “cute critters” ~ and butterflies, I have! This butterfly is from the Brilliant Wings Die Set. I love this set with the solid shapes on one and the intricate butterflies on another. Mine is hovering over a strip of Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper.

Here’s How I Made It:
  • Start with a base of Rich Razzleberry Cardstock, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″.
  • Stamp a piece of Basic White Cardstock with a birthday greeting from Happiest of Birthdays in Rich Razzleberry ink.
  • If desired, emboss the stamped panel with an Embossing Folder that isn’t too busy, like Tasteful Textiles, and glue it to the base card.
  • Cut a strip of Highland Heather Cardstock to 4″x 1-1/4″ and emboss it with the Greenery Embossing Folder. Glue it to the card front about 1″ from the top of the card.
  • Next, cut a strip of Flowering Fields DSP to 4″x 1-3/4″. On the bottom edge, crop it with a gently sloping die, such as the one in Inspiring Canopy, or simply cut a curve with scissors. Glue it over the Highland Heather strip, overlapping about 3/4″.
  • Crop a solid butterfly with Blackberry Bliss Cardstock from Brilliant Wings Dies. Then crop an intricate butterfly (that coordinates with your solid one) from the same die set with Fresh Freesia Cardstock. Glue the two butterflies together just at the centers, lift the outer wings for dimension, and add a Pastel Pearl.
  • Card layout inspired by Dawn O. ♥

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on [second Wednesday]. Our theme will be Fabulous Flowers when our Design Team creates a project using any of the many beautiful flowers in our catalogs.

Until then, have fun in your craft space.
