Mediterranean Blooms Fun Fold

Jeanie Stark knocked it out of the park again with her Mystery Stampin’ fun fold challenge! This fold was entirely new to me, and as usual I was not sure what it would look like until I got toward the end of the directions. If you would like to play along, click HERE to solve the mystery!

The first clue is always, “Collect your materials.” She tells you whether you need cardstock, white or colored, and DSP, but she doesn’t tell you which color or which DSP. She gives measurements but not pictures. So this week, I pulled out some paper that I have not used very often, Mediterranean Blooms DSP. Sometimes I grab retired paper, thinking that if I screw up, I won’t mind so much!!! 😆

Here’s my card:

It is a stand-up, pop-out card that neatly folds down to fit in the envelope. Here’s the front, and how it looks when you pull it out of the envelope ~

Here it is all opened up, but still lying flat ~

This is how it looks, standing up on display ~

Another angle ~

This is the back when folded up ~

And this is the back when it’s fully opened ~  You certainly could put more white pieces in the center two spaces if you have lots to write. Or a coordinating DSP would look pretty here, too ~

One more angle here to give you an idea of the pop-out focal piece ~

Feel free to get all the measurements from Jeanie’s post, HERE. I’ll tell you what products I used, but the fun part of this exercise is to try your own colors, papers, embellishments, etc.!

For my Mediterranean Blooms card:
  • Pumpkin Pie Cardstock
  • Mediterranean Blooms DSP
  • Basic White Cardstock
  • “Happy Birthday” from Charming Day, stamped with Early Espresso ink
  • “You deserve the best” from Sunrise Sailing, stamped with Early Espresso ink

My focal piece is also from the DSP. I roughly cut out one of the orange branches, glued it to a piece of Basic White, then fuss-cut around the design. I glued that right to the pop-out arm of the card.

Let me know if you’re trying some of these fun folds! I would like to hear what you think of them.

Have a great day!

This is so fun! I need to try a mystery card sometime. All your cards from Jeanie’s mystery fun folds have been great. So colorful and sweet. Bernie was sound asleep yesterday so I pulled out a kit and made three cards. I had already punched out the pieces so basically it was gluing and dimensionals. The envelope didn’t make it though. I addressed it and left it on the tray while I went to get a stamp. He hopped up on a cardboard box grabbed it and ran off to chew it up. At least the card was not in it or no stamp on it. Those puppy teeth are very sharp as his little toe nails are by looking at my arms.
