Welcome to the Pals July, 2018 Blog Hop. We’re having a “Pattern Party”. This month our creations will feature our favorite Designer Series Papers and coordinating embellishments from the new annual catalog from Stampin’ Up!
You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
I’m combining Soft Suede with Mango Melody today using my very favorite DSP of the season, Nature’s Poem.
I’ve used most of the prints in this pack of paper, but I hadn’t yet used this Soft Suede print. I love it with the gorgeous white leaves on it. It almost looks like they are etched into the paper.
With a Soft Suede card base, a layer of Very Vanilla, and topped with the suede DSP, I then went looking for a great complimentary color. I landed on Mango Melody – another paper I had yet to use. I cut a scalloped circle measuring 2-1/4″ from the Layering Circle Framelits, and topped it with a Very Vanilla circle measuring 2-1/8″. My sentiment is from Beautiful You, stamped in Soft Suede. The tiny mango hearts were cut using the Everyday Jars Framelits.
I punched three sets of vellum leaves using the Leaf Punch and attached them to the back of the circle piece, then popped the circles up with Dimensionals and adhered it to the card.
The twine bow is one of the spools from Nature’s Twine, made to coordinate with the Nature’s Poem Suite. I used a Glue Dot to adhere it to the card.
My “thing” is to make simple cards with beautiful papers and let their beauty shine, and this is the perfect example of that. I cannot forget the envelope, though! Hmmm…Mango or Suede…or both!
I cut a 1/4″ x 6″ strip of Mango Melody and a 2″ x 6″ piece of Soft Suede 6 x 6 DSP (perfect for lining envelope flaps among other amazing uses!) Then I attached the Mango strip with a piece of Tear & Tape and tucked the Suede piece right up under the Mango strip with Liquid Adhesive. After it dried, I turned it over and trimmed off the little bit of excess for a beautifully coordinating envelope.
Now it’s time to use the Blog Hop Line-up below to see what the rest of my Pals have chosen as their “favorite”. Don’t forget to show us some love by commenting on our creations.
Mark your calendars for August 8, 2018 when we Cut it Out! Participants will showcase projects featuring “cuts” from punches, Framelits, Edgelits, or Thinlits. . Don’t miss the fun.
