Get Well Watercolor

Day 2 at Camp Create 2021! This is my kind of summer camp ~ no bugs, no sunburn, and lots of crafting!

Today’s challenge is Wonderful Watercolor. I’m loving these challenges by My Favorite Things to push me out of my comfort zone and into new techniques! I decided to paint a young friend of mine a get well card and I’m hoping it will lift her spirits a bit.

Supplies:
  • Evening Evergreen Cardstock,  Stampin’ Up!
  • Soft Succulent In Color DSP, Stampin’ Up!
  • Watercolor Paper, Strathmore 140 lb. Cold Press
  • Black Amalgam Ink, Gina K.
  • Bed Rest Stamp Set, My Favorite Things
  • Stampin’ Up! Classic Ink Pads: Crumb Cake, Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Highland Heather, Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo
  • Round Watercolor Brushes
  • Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon, Stampin’ Up!
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock and Med. Envelope, Stampin’ Up!

To “paint” with ink, I just smooshed some color onto a clear block, added a little water with my paintbrush, and applied to the paper. It’s my first time to try this technique. My usual go-to would be Stampin’ Blends. But this was fun and I do like the end result!

See you back here tomorrow for Day 3 of Camp! You can attend, too! Click here and join me at Camp Create! Don’t forget the S’mores! 😉

So cute! I need to try that method, you did great! I don’t always have the watercolor pencil color to use. I keep thinking I will order one of those little girls, does she have a name? I would like to work on skin coloring sometime. Thanks for the smile!

  2. What stamp did you use?
    Thank you,
