Is it a card? Is it an envelope? Well, actually it’s a card to look like an envelope! I’m using the Sale-a-bration double item, Friendly Hello Stamp Set + Designer Series Paper to decorate my “envelope” card.
Isn’t this a fun design? Basic Borders Dies provided the “envelope” flap. I glued it over three panels of the Friendly Hello DSP that were adhered to a Basic Black Card Base.
Measurements
- Basic Black Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″
- Petal Pink/white print from Friendly Hello DSP, (2 panels), 4″x 1-3/8″
- Petal Pink/white/black print from Friendly Hello DSP, 4″x 2-1/4″
- Basic White Cardstock, 5-1/4″x 2-3/4″, lower edge cropped with Basic Borders Die
Stamp It
I decided to stamp the bird/flowers with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Basic White Cardstock and hand cut around the image. Then I had to decide whether to color it or not. I like the graphic black and white, so I left it uncolored. I glued it to the left side of the “envelope” flap, then stamped the smaller flower image directly to the right side of the flap. The sentiment image of “hello” was too big for my card, so I searched through my other sets and found the perfect size in Love of Leaves!
Embellish It
I took a black button from my stash and glued it to the center of the flap, tied a double bow of Black Baker’s Twine, and finished it off with three Artistry Blooms sequins. How handy to have sequins in the perfect color!
