Father’s Day Card for a Dapper Dad! #TTTC044

Do you have a dapper dad or granddad that wears a bow tie? My dad was more of the golf shirt type, but I know there are some gentlemen out there that do! Here is a Father’s Day Card for that gent!

My inspiration for this card actually started with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge Board for this week. Here is the board:

When I started thinking about the design, I was aiming for the far left vertical row ~ stripes/masculine/neutral. Yes, Night of Navy is the new neutral! By the time I finished, I realized that this card qualifies for two other rows as well ~ the far right vertical with “add dimension” because my sentiments and button are popped up with Dimensionals/ink (obviously)/and patterned paper. Also the bottom horizontal row with neutral/twine (in the button)/patterned paper.

My patterned paper is from the True Gentleman pack of DSP, which fits its name so well with the houndstooth, bow ties, plaids, and pipes! Where’s the smoking jacket?! This paper can be found in the Occasions 2018 Catalog and is available until May 31st.

 I stamped the sentiment from Guy Greetings (retiring on June 1st) with Chocolate Chip ink (also retiring June 1st) onto Very Vanilla cardstock, then cut the two out with my Paper Snips scissors and adhered them with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I threaded the button with two strands of Linen Thread and tied them on the back before adhering it to the card with a Dimensional. Nothing says “dapper” like a faux wood button, don’t you think?! The True Gentleman Buttons are also in the Occasions Catalog on page 45. I don’t see them on the Retiring List, so I’m guessing they will be making an appearance in the 2018-19 Annual Catalog!

I am almost certain that the dad who wears a bow tie will also be wearing wing tips, right? This fun image on the inside is also part of the Guy Greetings stamp set.
