The challenge for TGIF this week is “Farmhouse Chic.” I think anyone who has watched Fixer Upper is pretty familiar with that decorating style, but I googled it just in case and saw many great photos. The common threads I found were lots of white, some beige, some gray, woodgrain, small pops of color, plants, baskets, and tons of texture. So here is my card interpretation of “Farmhouse Chic” for #TGIFC322:
Here is the challenge graphic for the week:
I knew my base needed to be white. I used Stampin’ Up!’s Thick Basic White Cardstock. To that I added a layer of Basic White that was textured with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.
I cropped the basket from Season’s Blessings (I love this basket die!) with a woodgrain paper from In Good Taste (on sale for 15% off in July), and it sits on another woodgrain shelf.
I used the leaf image, stamping with Soft Sea Foam onto Basic White and cropping with the matching die. To get the white flowers, I used Many Layered Blossoms Dies and Basic White Cardstock.
I took a sentiment from this same bundle and stamped it with Old Olive. Then I cropped it with a die from Tasteful Labels Dies. A bit of Granite Gray Baker’s Twine adds a cute touch of texture!
Well, what do you think? Did I capture the essence of Farmhouse Chic? It will be fun to see other interpretations. See them all here.
I hope you’re having a great weekend! If you live in the Pacific Northwest, try to stay cool. Your temps are way too high for comfort! I told my daughter to turn on the sprinkler and sit under the tree (there is no AC and they are melting š )
Take care,

Your composition of color, embossing folder, pot, and greenery speaks to my heart. Beautiful! I may have to copy your tableau.
Thank you, Nancy! I appreciate your comments!
