Christmas Tags & More Explosion Card

Have you ever heard of an explosion card? This fun creation was inspired by Jeanie Stark’s Mystery Stampin’ post this week. It “explodes” when you open it for a fun surprise! I made mine with the festive Christmas Tags & More 6″x 6″ Specialty DSP.

Here’s the front:

I trimmed off the 6″x 6″ sheet to make a 4-1/4″x 3″ panel and layered it over Real Red Cardstock. Then I glued that to a Garden Green card base.

When you lift the front, you see lots of color:

And fully opened, “explosion!”

The exploding DSP is also a sheet from Christmas Tags & More. I added 2 Basic White Cardstock squares, 2-3/4″x 2-3/4″ with stamps from Traditional Labels Stamp Set. The wrapped gift is a punch-out piece from Christmas Tags & More.

‘Tis the Season is from Ornamental Christmas. I stamped it first with Memento black ink, then Versamark, sprinkled it with clear embossing powder, and heat set it. Then to the front I sprinkled some red rhinestones (embellishments from yesteryear!) Both elements give the front that little extra shine! That sweet little bow? Another punch-out from the DSP pack. I lifted it up with Dimensionals.
