Spooky Sweet Trick or Treat

Today for Create with Stamping Friends, we have a color challenge! At first glance, I would never think “Halloween” when looking at these colors, but thanks to Spooky Sweet Designer Series Paper, it’s the first thing I thought of! We have Granny Apple Green, Petunia Pop, and Pumpkin Pie.

Here’s the Challenge:

And Here’s My Card:

Is it a bat? Is it a ghost? Whichever it is, it has a basket full of treats and that’s all that matters! How fun is this? And it couldn’t be easier with the punch-outs and pre-designed backgrounds on Spooky Sweet DSP.

So Simple to Make:
  • Petunia Pop Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
  • Spooky Sweet DSP, backside, Petunia Pop, 5-1/4″x 4″
  • Spooky Sweet DSP, house scene, cut from this piece of DSP ~

  • Bat “ghost”, cut out from the DSP
    • I loosely cut out the image, glued it to a scrap of white cardstock, then cut around the image leaving a bit of white space around it. Then I adhered it to the card front with Dimensionals.
  • “Trick or Treat” from Fright Night, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Basic White Cardstock and fussy cut
  • Bat punch-out and adhered to the upper left corner with a Mini Dimensional

On the Inside:

  • Basic White Cardstock, 5-1/4″x 4″
  • “BOO!” cropped from Basic Black Cardstock and Fright Night Dies
  • One more bat punch-out glued over BOO!

Wait!  Are those apples in his basket?!!! He must be a Fruit Bat! 🦇 lol!

One more detail…did you notice? I drew a black line with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker around the perimeter of the DSP layers. I thought it helped to define the DSP from the Cardstock just a little bit better!

Happy Trick or Treating!

  1. Fun. I thought the ghost was behind the bat…I wasn’t sure if they were green apples or some witch’s concoction. That was goofy looking bat so wondered if it was a big bird with bat wings?

  2. Cute card.
