CASEing Coast to Coast: Spring!

Welcome to our March edition of CASEing Coast to Coast! Rosanne Mulhern (from PA) and I (from CA) take turns creating and CASEing projects to inspire you! This month Rosanne started us off with this beautiful card and treat box, using Spring as the theme.

So pretty! I love her paper choices and the colorful Easter eggs that add such a cute pop of color. You can read about her projects on her blog at www.heartfeltstamping.com.

I chose to make a card/box set as well, but used a more general Spring theme with Butterfly Beauty Dies. Are you wearing your sunglasses? You may need them! Here is my set:

fancy phrases, butterfly beauty dies, flowers for every season dsp, tasteful labels dies, card and box set, spring card idea, heat embossing, stampin up, karen hallam

The Card Details
  • Start with a Thick Basic White Cardstock base.
  • Add a Poppy Parade layer measuring 5″x 3-3/4.”
  • The next layer is Flowers For Every Season striped DSP, cut with the third largest Stitched Rectangle Die.
  • Overlay Vellum Cardstock, also cut with the third largest Stitched Rectangle Die.
  • Using Butterfly Beauty Dies, cut the largest butterflies die from Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade, and the tiny butterflies from Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade, and Magenta Madness.
  • The sentiment from Fancy Phrases is heat embossed, white on black cardstock and adhered to the card with Mini Black Dimensionals.
  • Tiny black dots above the small butterflies are made with a black glaze pen (non-SU).
  • The envelope flap is decorated with Fine Art Floral DSP.

The Box Details
  • Start with a Love You Always Treat Box.
  • Cover the top and two long sides with Flowers For Every Season striped DSP, approx 4″x 6.”
  • Overlay Vellum Cardstock, 4″x 2-3/4″, and adhere to the top under the label and butterflies.
  • Use two of the Butterfly Beauty butterflies that were cut with the large one on the card, layer and glue down.
  • The sentiment from Fancy Phrases is heat embossed, white on black and cropped with a Tasteful Labels Die.
  • Magenta Madness In Color Ribbon creates a pull for the box, adhered to the inside with Tear & Tape.
  • Finish off the Daffodil Delight butterfly with a White Baker’s Twine bow and glue one more tiny butterfly to the black label.

This can be used for Easter with the proper message on the inside and the box filled with Easter candy treats! Or just any occasion that celebrates Spring!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY!

P.S. I’ll be taking a couple weeks off from blogging while I entertain family members who are coming to visit. Our house will be filled with the joyful noise of young children again! I’m so excited! So I will be MIA for a while, but will be back before the end of the month. If you are part of my Kit Club, you will be receiving your April kits very soon. I will email you when they go out. Time to be thinking about renewing your subscription (don’t forget about the coupons I sent you!)
