CASEing Coast To Coast

Today is the day of the month that Rosanne Mulhern and I bring you CASEing Coast to Coast! My friend from the East Coast designed the card to CASE this month. Then I, from the West Coast, used elements from her card to make one of my own. Here is her gorgeous card. You can read about it by clicking here.

There are so many beautiful elements to take from this card, it was hard to narrow it down! I picked her sentiment to get started. This stamp comes from Flourishing Phrases. If you are new to Stampin’ Up! you won’t know that it has been around for a few years. It is a staple in my stamp collection, because it has a wide variety of sentiments that are perfect for so many occasions. Because of it’s beautiful font and its versatility, I reach for it often. You’ll see the set down below.

Here is my card.

I started by stenciling a dot background on a piece of So Saffron cardstock using So Saffron ink. Next I cut a frame using Stitched Rectangle Dies and glued it over the background onto my So Saffron base card.

Using the Flourish Dies, I cropped three – one in Pear Pizzazz, one in Mango Melody, and one in So Saffron. I glued the Pear Pizzazz to the So Saffron to give it some stability. Then I cut the Mango one apart and glued the flowers and dots over the Pear Pizzazz.

My sentiment is stamped with Mango Melody ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and cropped out with a die from Beautiful Boughs Dies (2019 Holiday Catalog, returning in the 2020 Holiday Catalog.)

Color Your Ribbon!

If you are wondering where I found Mango Melody ribbon, I am excited to tell you that I colored Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding with my Mango Melody Blend! It’s so easy! I just placed the ribbon down on a paper towel and ran the side of the brush tip along the ribbon. It dried almost instantly! No mess! The best part is, you can make that ribbon any color you want with your Blends. It’s a “must have” ribbon, and you’ll find it in the new Spring Mini Catalog.

Bring the Outside In

On the inside I stamped the flourish with So Saffron, stamped off once on scratch paper, then stamped onto Very Vanilla for a lighter shade. I used Mango Melody ink for the sentiment over the top of it.

If you don’t have this stamp set and coordinating dies, I highly recommend them. Especially the stamps. Here’s a closer look at those.
