Beautifully Braided

This is a brand new stamp set for me. I’ve been eyeing it since the Mini Catalog came out in January, but finally made the purchase. It’s called Beautifully Braided and comes bundled with the Braided Punch. I didn’t get the punch, so I can’t give you an opinion on that, but I am in love with this ginko plant branch!

Here is a look at the stamp set. I will also show you a picture of the punch, as you may want to purchase the bundle and save 10%.

For the first time out of the box, I decided to heat emboss it with white embossing powder. I have always been fond of white embossing on Crumb Cake, so I started with that and ended up with a tone-on-tone look that I’m very pleased with.

Easy Directions and Measurements:
  • Soft Suede card base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″
  • Whisper White Cardstock, 4-7/8″x 3-1/2″
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock, 4-3/4″ x 3-3/8″
  • First, emboss the Crumb Cake layer with the Subtle Embossing Folder
  • Next, stamp the ginko stamp onto the Crumb Cake layer with Versamark Ink. Sprinkle with white embossing powder and set with a Heat Gun.
  • Then, stamp the shadow stamp with Crumb Cake ink over the leaves. Wipe over the embossed parts with a dry cloth.
  • Add the greeting with Crumb Cake ink.
  • Glue the Crumb Cake panel to the White layer. Then glue both panels to the base with Dimensionals.
  • Add some shiny sequins or rhinestones to finish it off.

For the inside, I used a flourish stamp from the Beautifully Braided Stamp Set. But then I added a sentiment from Floral Essence, which I thought went very well with the one on the front.

To add a coordinating bit to the envelope, I glued a 1/4″ strip of Soft Suede at the top of the back flap, then added Crumb Cake DSP from the Neutrals 6″x 6″ DSP Pack.

What do you think? Do you like the tone-on-tone neutral effect? Or are you more of a color realist? I’m sure this stamp will see green before long, and probably a few other colors as well!

Thanks for spending a few minutes with me today! Take care! And get into the stamping habit ~
