Artfully Composed for CCMC701

Here is a fun sketch for our Thursday Design Team at Create With Connie and Mary. I tried different orientations with this sketch and in the end I came back with the original sketch. Here’s what it is ~

I decided to go with Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper and I used the front and back of one sheet. Here is my card ~

I love the brightness of these colors together! You might remember these cards that I posted in December.

Card Details:

  • Calypso Coral Cardstock layer, 5-3-8″x 4-1/8″, run through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the MacramĂ© Embossing Folder
  • Artfully Composed DSP (Pale Papaya), 4-5/8″x 2″
  • Artfully Composed DSP (foliage print) and Basic Black Cardstock, cut with Layering Circles Dies to approximately 3″ in diameter
  • Vellum Cardstock, 2-1/2″x 1″, cut to a point at the right end

The sentiment was surprisingly easy to emboss on Vellum. Make sure to use a good anti-static powder bag (i.e. SU retired Embossing Buddy) and heat up your Heat Tool ahead to get it good and hot. It goes more quickly that way and gives it less chance of warping.

I chose Vellum because it doesn’t interfere with the DSP design underneath. I didn’t want to cover up any part of that print!

These colors make a bold statement, don’t they? This card has tons of texture and that is my cup of tea! 🙂

Now click HERE to see what the rest of the design team has made with this sketch, if you haven’t already. I think it’s really fun to see how many different ways everyone interprets a challenge like this. Enjoy!
